Guest guest
What you said about " Doesn't matter... things resolve at their own pace, at their own time " really hit home for me. I know I can't do everything that could possibly be done for Aubrie. And I can't see into the future to know which things will make the most difference and which will not help at all. So I have to do my best and not worry about it. I also have to balance giving her a " normal " childhood and giving her all the best interventions. It's really nerve-racking, tiring, and discouraging cuz I feel like I will never win. There will always be regrets and questions. Guest guest
, The balancing act can be hell sometimes. Between therapies, appts and school stuff, even tho most of Aari's medical problems now are pretty reasonable (as reasonable as CHARGE gets <G>), there are times I just take a break from it all. You get the ST who says " you need to do this an hr a day " and the OT saying " you need to do this every two hrs " and docs that want appts every six months just to look at him and ask how it's going what happens to life ?? l like you I have a hubby and another kid in the home we are a family and sometimes I just say the heck with it.. it's break time and make it family time. We usually do this in the summer because the boys are on vacation, we like to go and do stuff and just hang out. as for the SI issues take it as you can, do what you can but unless it's interfereing with her life as she is does it really need to be an intensive thing ? Rocking is such a normal thing for a kiddo with vision and/or hearing problems. Aari used to rock and spin, the rocking has subsided some but he's still spinning, it's a vestibular/ sensory imput thing with him. Hey girl, you're doing OK.....
