Hi Pam, I was diagnosed with LS in March 1998. I saw

4 doctors in the Twin Cities area before I found Dr.

on. The doctor I was seeing before I went to

Dr. T wanted to do laser surgery on my vulva to remove

an ulcer. At the time I didn't know I had VV, I just

thought the all the pain was due to the LS. I found

out about Dr. T through a co-worker at a part-time job

I had at the YMCA. She also has LS and one day we

were talking about uninary track infections and we got

on the subject of LS. We were both amazed that we

found someone else with the same disease! I know

consider one of my best friends.

Anyway, yes I did know I had LS when I saw Dr. T.

Although I didn't know the severity of it. The first

time Dr.T took a look she said " OH my God! You poor

thing! " She said that I have " end-stage " LS. She

promised to make me better - and she has definately

kept her promise!

Before my first appointment with Dr. T I gathered all

of my medical records relating to my LS. I gave a

copy to Dr. T. Also you can call your clinic and have

them send a copy directly to her. I think it would be

helpful if she had the information before your

appointment to know exactly what she is dealing with

and she'd know what treatments you have done in the

past. Just a suggestion.

Protopic is NOT a steriod. But it is used in the

place of Clob. The FDA approved it last Nov/Dec for

dermatitis. I learned about it on the LS group. I

called Dr.T about it and she immediately prescribed it

for me - she said she had heard about it from her

dermatology friends but didn't know it was on the

market yet. Protopic has helped my LS, but I don't

know if it helps the VV. I don't use it there since I

have had my glands removed and I don't have any pain.

Have a good weekend.

Hi ,

In my heart I know I have made the right decision to

see Dr. on. For now I will keep going to my

bio-feed back therapy and I also have some test I have

to have in July so I am hoping that Sept. will be

here

be-fore I know it. I think I probably should get

together all the treatments I have tried and test that

I have had done before I go see her. Did you know you

had LS before seeing Dr. on? Is protopic a

steriod cream? I haven't heard of it. I am glad you

are having good re-sults with it.

Take care, Pam
