Guest guest
Deepta- Aubrie has a severe coloboma in one eye and near normal vision in the other. We have not done patching as it would greatly limit her activities if we did. She seems to have very limited useful vision in her bad eye. She has had 1 surgery so far to correct her lazy eye. We have opted to go for surgeries rather than patching because she would be basically blind if we patched her good eye. How bad is Amita's worst eye? Even if you don't do patching, there are surgical procedures to help. Anyone else in the gang reading this -- does it sound right to you? Is there anyone patching who leaves the child with severely limited vision while patched? Aubrie can't lose any precious developmental time being blinded by a patch. I welcome any comments in disagreement. Michele W mom to Aubrie (2.5 yrs) CHaRgE and (8 yrs), wife to DJ, in IL west@...
Guest guest
Michele, I wouldn't say Kennedy is greatly limited when patched. I would probably have to think twice about patching her if that was the case. She always seems to function pretty much the same as when not patched so it's not that big a deal. I don't disagree with you.
