I totally agree with you on that. The styles for 4-year-olds are identical to the styles for 14-year-olds in the 'girls' section of most major retail stores. They want to make toddlers and pre-schoolers look like miniature adults. D.
Guest guest
Oh, God, don't get me started on that! There are so many ways for girls to get hooked almost as babes into being dressed as adult sluts, as witness the 'modeling classes' or 'beauty pagents' a la JonBenet Ramsey. Or ice skating, dance, etc. Then you have TV, movies and the rest, all trying to hook girls into dressing in ways that make them think they are adults, and are essentially an invitation to rape as far as the adolesenct and adult males go. 'well, if she didn't want it, then why dress like that?' being the usual defense...with some logic, unfortunately. Not that dress actually is the end all and be all of rape and abuse...I was dressed in ankle length skirts, long sleeves and high collars growing up, and it didn't save me... People totally have had common sense drained right out of their brains, to not be able to see cause and effect.... I comsider it a form of child abuse to make little girls participate in pageants. They should be outlawed. > Or ice skating, dance, etc. Yjere's nothing wrong with ice skating and/or dance, if that's what the girl likes. > Then you have TV, movies and the rest, all trying to hook girls > into dressing in ways that make them think they are adults, And their mothers go along with it. Why is that? and are > essentially an invitation to rape as far as the adolesenct and adult males > go. I disagree with you here. If a man is inclined to rape, he will, regardless of how a female dresses. The same is true for a cheater, but that's another subject. D. It really shows that dressing sluttily doesn't mean you want sex. Ettina
Guest guest
a) The way you dress is absolutely NOT an excuse for rape. Ever. In dance, gymnastics, etc I can assure you as a high level gymnast that the clothing as it is is required. Baggy stuff gets in the way and is dangerous. I'd imagine skating is the same way. > > Subject: Re: Teens (was Autism Registry) > To: AutisticSpectrumTreeHouse > Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 8:24 PM > Oh, God, don't get me started on that! Guest guest
A. No kidding! In my own case, two of the guys were pedophiles, and the third an actor that recongnised that I was 'not normal' and knew the right things to say, but I dissociated and didn't know enough to know what the hell to say....visual thinker. Plus, with two of them being famous, who would believe me? No one. B. Yes, ice skating has much the same dress requirements. I made my own dresses, but was never satisfied with how they worked out. Then, after I could no longer skate, because my health had started to go,(lungs), I saw top rank amatuers and pros with skirts that were made with multi sections, allowing for a nice length, but not impeding by wrapping round the legs. At a winter/Christmas party, I once had tried wearing a long skirt, and hated it...could only putt around the ice in it demurely, like someone out of Curriur and Ives!
