Ann and other dear friends-:

Thanks so much for the benefit of your experience- I commiserate with your

experience with the 'medical men' at the hospital! Makes u lose faith sometimes!

Mom got released with the docs finding nothing really- aside fro

A slightly high blood cell count- no UTI no fractures

My brother relieved me this morning-I will be heading to moms house to check it

out- wondering how long people can endure this stage PF the disease?she can't

talk- can't walk- doesn't seem to recognized or my brother anymore - and she's

incontinent-

Stay tuned - will be getting back to the group when o know more

God bless this group!!

Dear Judy,

I am sorry to hear they were unable to confirm the diagnosis for the pelvic pain

your Mom indicated.  Perhaps further tests might be necessary if she continues

to be in pain.  There are of course other causes of lower abdominal pain, such

as constipation, bowel obstruction, bladder or ovarian, or uterine cancer.  My

89 year old Aunt passed away from ovarian cancer that went undiagnosed until it

was too late to treat it effectively.  She just had bloating and constipation

and vague pelvic discomfort that her MD thought was just simple constipation.

She suffered for 9 weeks after they finally diagnosed the ovarian cancer with

pelvic ultrasound, MRIs and biopsy of fluid from the abdomin. Of course pain may

cause agitation. Further tests may be needed.

Wishing you the best under the circumstances,

Pat

Pat and dear group-

Pat, thank you for your kind words! I certainly feel for what your dear aunt

with the uterine cancer! I suppose the LBD dies not preclude any other diseases

a person is vulnerable to-

They sent mom home with a script for cola w 3 times a day and in fact

aYs she had a huge bowel movement and now is sleeping finally! Given how much

sleep she has been deprived of my hope is that she gets. Good rest now and that

and I will get some rest too now!

Happy fathers days to allege extended dads I. The group! I have jumped into the

group now head firSt and look forward to continued strength so that I can be

there for others as we journey together through lewy land!

Best,

Judy

Dear Norma

Thank you for your kind words-- I'm quite down about my moms condition and the

incident last week with the pain she was experiencing - i was wondering is dr

Gavin is a neurologist. Can u send me his contact info

Now I'm trying to figure out if we need hospice- the only doctor I am still

working with is her internist- I'm in NYC and wonder If I shpuld be getting in

touch with hospice myself or I'd I need the md to refer me?

> Judy - My hope is that the doctor (or someone else) was able to figure out

what made your Mom agitated. Sometimes it can be something so small. Other times

it can be significant but we have to figure out what it is and pay close

attention to any non-verbal cues. At times, a small adjustment to something can

make a difference. I hope that was the case. You mentioned going to NY to see a

doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Jim Galvin. If you need his information,

please let me know.

Judy,

I called for palative care myself. The advantage if the MD says she needs it,

they will put her on immediately. But they evaluated Mom and put her on.

Hugs,

Donna R

Cared for Mom 3 years in my home and the last year at a nh. She passed away

from LBD in 2002.
