Guest guest
Ann Thanks for the input! Judy Office email: Jrstr@... Sent from my iPhone > Just from my personal experience (I do not have LBD) - I took one Cipro pill (for a sinus infection) and had to go to bed because of the " jitters " that I was feeling: I was simply miserable trying to sit up - it was like I was tense all over and could not relax. That is the same reaction I get to antihistamines only it was more severe. Cipro may be fine for some people, but there are some of us who absolutely cannot take it. I think if I had a drip and a catheter stuck in me at the time, I would have been trying to take them out as well - anything to get the tension to go away. I'd get the Cipro changed; there are other choices; keep working at it till you find the one she can tolerate. > > Ann > > > > > > > The regular dose of ativan puts my mil in delirium for days with strong > > > hallucinations. Guest guest
 Dear Judy, I am sorry to hear they were unable to confirm the diagnosis for the pelvic pain your Mom indicated. Perhaps further tests might be necessary if she continues to be in pain. There are of course other causes of lower abdominal pain, such as constipation, bowel obstruction, bladder or ovarian, or uterine cancer. My 89 year old Aunt passed away from ovarian cancer that went undiagnosed until it was too late to treat it effectively. She just had bloating and constipation and vague pelvic discomfort that her MD thought was just simple constipation. She suffered for 9 weeks after they finally diagnosed the ovarian cancer with pelvic ultrasound, MRIs and biopsy of fluid from the abdomin. Of course pain may cause agitation. Further tests may be needed. Wishing you the best under the circumstances, Pat   > Just from my personal experience (I do not have LBD) - I took one Cipro pill (for a sinus infection) and had to go to bed because of the " jitters " that I was feeling: I was simply miserable trying to sit up - it was like I was tense all over and could not relax. Guest guest
Dear Norma Thank you for your kind words-- I'm quite down about my moms condition and the incident last week with the pain she was experiencing - i was wondering is dr Gavin is a neurologist. Can u send me his contact info Now I'm trying to figure out if we need hospice- the only doctor I am still working with is her internist- I'm in NYC and wonder If I shpuld be getting in touch with hospice myself or I'd I need the md to refer me? Judy Office email: Jrstr@... Sent from my iPhone > Judy - My hope is that the doctor (or someone else) was able to figure out what made your Mom agitated. Sometimes it can be something so small. Other times it can be significant but we have to figure out what it is and pay close attention to any non-verbal cues. At times, a small adjustment to something can make a difference. I hope that was the case. You mentioned going to NY to see a doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Jim Galvin. If you need his information, please let me know. > >
Guest guest
Judy, I called for palative care myself. The advantage if the MD says she needs it, they will put her on immediately. But they evaluated Mom and put her on. Hugs, Donna R Cared for Mom 3 years in my home and the last year at a nh. She passed away from LBD in 2002.
