Guest guest
I got the information about this support group from the ABCnews.com discussion on chronic fatigue surgery. My mother was diagnosed with a chiari malformation last year and underwent surgery in June 1999. Since her surgery, her symptoms have gotten worse and her quality of life has substantially decreased. She now suffers from blurred vision, ringing in the ears, unstable on her feet (runs into walls, trips over her own feet, etc.), unable to concentrate, has little short term memory, swollen/watery eyes, severe burning in the back of her head where the skull was removed, severe insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, pressure behind eyes, etc.. She did not have these symptoms before her surgery. Her complaints before surgery were numbness in her arms and legs and severe headaches. Since her surgery, she has had numerous MRIs, seen several neurologists and no one can explain why she has these symptoms and are not able to offer her any relieve. I was wondering if anyone has had this surgery and has had similar problems and/or symptoms. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
