Hi there:

Hi, this is Randi. I need to ask a favor of the group.

I am on deadline for the new book, due April 15. I am on the next to

last chapter (in other words, still have a ton of work to do), but

something is nagging at me from way back in Chapter 2.

What I would love to happen is to post this question to this list and

have you look at them and see if they describe your mother. If so,

please say so to the group, if you are willing. And then, can someone

tell me, how many people said yes? Is it:

1: A small number of members--not too frequent

2. 50% or so. Very interesting!

3. Most--WOW!

4 None of the above, it is ___

Here are the traits. (Sorry for the strange formatting)

* Excessive dramatics with exaggerated displays of emotions.

* Inappropriately seductive appearance or behavior.

* Excessive concern with physical appearance.

* A need to be the center of attention (self-centeredness).

* Rapidly shifting emotional states that may appear shallow

to others.

* Tendency to believe that relationships are more intimate

than they actually are.

These are all signs of histrionic personality disorder.
