I am sorry to hear that you lost your mother. This is a terrible disease for

everyone it touches. Stay strong, and keep coming back to share the things you

have learned with the newcomers. Your mother was indeed lucky to have someone

advocating for her. I am happy for her and you that it was peaceful. Take care

of yourself as you heal. Best wishes, Nan

Doris,

Sincerest sympathy to you and yours. It seems your mom had the best kind

of passing one could wish for in this situation. I wish for the same

peaceful ending for my husband who has been in the latter stages of LBD for

many

months now. It is the most we can hope for.

Doris,

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I pray for God to give you peace

and strength. It will be hard at first, but may knowing she is not suffering

anymore and she is now back to being the person she was before this horrific

disease, bring you peace and comfort. It's time to take care of `you' now.

Dear Doris,

I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing but at the same time am relieved

for her that the journey is over. I'm so glad for you and your sister that her

passing was peaceful. You remained commited and devoted to her needs and care

throughout. Her journey was much more peaceful than many and I am sure a good

part of that was because of your knowledge and making sure above all that the

meds she was on were indicated and the best they could be for her. Know you did

the best job possible in advocating and caring for her as you start the next

stage, resuming your life after her death. There will be a huge void. Heal

well Dear Friend.

Hi Doris,

My condolences on the passing of your Mom, I lost my Mom last week ( the 11th)

to LBD as well.  She was 83 and never sick a day in her life.   I pray that

one day a cure is found.   Take care.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that my mother passed away on Monday August 8,

2011 at 8:00pm. She was unable to swallow at the end and was on palliative care

for 6 days before she passed. It was a very peaceful end for her and for us. We

are thankful that she is at rest now.

For those of you who are new to this board or who are starting on the Lewy Body

journey, keep on reading all present and past posts that you can. This board and

the people on it are what helped me cope with all of the stages that my mother

passed through over the last 5 or 6 years.

Thank you to all of you whose experiences helped me deal with all of the changes

and difficulties the my mom met on her way. You helped me to advocate

effectively for her.

Take care of yourselves as you care for your loved ones and yourselves.

Doris in Mississauga, Canada.

daughter of Ramona, born June 11, 1929; deceased Aug.8, 2011. Dx'd in 2005 with

Alzheimer's changed in 2006 to Lewy Body Dementia.
