Guest guest
Hi All, Can someone please answer this question? Is Ultram 50 mg. OK for LBD patients? My Mom, Ruby, is 87, living in a nursing home, has LBD, fell and broke her arm there a month ago and no surgery, pain pain pain all the time. She takes Seroquel, Aricept, Zoloft, and BP med's, etc. They are giving her Tylenol about twice a day, and Ultram 50 mg. for pain every 6 to 8 hours. Also a " patch " on her shoulder for the pain, it has pain med in it and I'm finding out tomorrow how much. She tried Hydrocodone, low dose when this happened after she got out of the hospital for 4 days and it KNOCKED HER TOTALLY OUT! Ultram makes her sleepy, slur her words, and she is hallucinating so so much more now. Prior to the fall, she could use her walker and snap out of her hallucinations very easily. Now she is mostly in a state of sleeping, or not all with me. Thank you and God Bless, , Tx
Guest guest
Hi , Good to see you back here. I do remember a discussion about this several months ago and I do remember that Ultram (or generic is Tramadol) is OK for those with LBD. Perhaps it is whatever is in the pain patch that is making her so sleepy. Ultram does cause a little drowsiness, and I know that just having pain does make one more tired than normal. I am not sure about the Hydrocodone, though. If that was bad for her, there might still be some in her system. Please keep us informed after you find out about the pain patch tomorrow. Perhaps someone else on this group may have more information. God bless you and Ms. Ruby! Hugs and prayers, Joan > > Hi All, > Can someone please answer this question? > > Is Ultram 50 mg.
