Guest guest
Dear Natasha Your nan is a very lucky lady to have you caring for her in such a loving and consistent way. Thank you for visiting her on a daily basis. It must be so difficult to see your nan so unhappy and it must be so hard for her as well, being moved to a new location and being so scared about what might be happening. I think it is important that you become her advocate, especially in the ways suggested by - to find out what medication she is on and to double check if this medication is suitable for people with LBD. The files and links on the website contain lots of information http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LBDcaregivers/links/_LBDA_publications_0010\ 91237619/ I can really recommend the information written by Dr Bradley Boeve. I have found his articles to be very helpful. Many doctors don't fully understand LBD and if you were able to print some of Dr Boeve's articles and give to the doctors and staff at the home, they may hopefully appreciate this. My own GP was so appreciative of the information I gave him that he said to me once " I'm not charging you for today's visit because I have learnt more from you than you have from me " . There is another article that was written by a caregiver for the staff of a nursing home that was written from the point of view of a patient with LBD. I cannot find it on the website at the moment but I will send it to you via your email address as I have a copy on my computer. Hang in there. It is such a tough job you are doing but if you put yourself in your nan's shoes, I'm sure you will gain strength from knowing that you are doing a very important job for her. I know that if I were in the same place as your nan, I would be very grateful that I had such a loving granddaughter.
