To me, that is a sign of an ill-trained Doctor. We need to trust those that we put our lives in the hands of. Keep searching for a Doctor you can trust, and can trust you. I'm still looking myself. I live in RI and am off to Boston in a couple of weeks to meet yet another Doctor. Chin up! Remember...you deserve the best treatment, even if it means pain meds. It is the least they can do for us. Guest guest Posted March 18, 2000 Report Share Posted March 18, 2000 Hi Valarie, I was also sent to a shrink by the doctors at Mayo because they started me on an anti-depressant which needed to be monitored. I am so happy that I went! I can't say the anti-depressant (Neurontin/pamelor} helped all that much but i did notice some relief however, she ten started me on nurontin and this is when I finally realized some help wit the pain. She was also a doctor who also just deal in meds. She moved away and I am seeing another one now wo does the same. e talk about how I am sleeping how I am coping etc and he does my prescriptions.
