I need some opinions...

I am really confused and would really appreciate the perspective of others who

are familiar with LBD. My mom received a dx years ago. I didn't find out about

it until 1 year ago. My mom has complained off and on literally forever about

memory issues. Probably for at least the last 5 or six years she's been really

complaining about it. I do see some deficits, and they are clearly more

prominent when she is stressed but all in all, nothing significant that I can

see. She has always tended to be " dramatic " and have a " whoa is me " attitude,

so I have to figure that into what is real. Lately, she seems better than ever

to me and is handling a stressful move beautifully--though she still says she

feels off. She has recently gotten off gluten (after testing to be sensitive)

and I am wondering whether that is responsible for what seems to me to be an

improvement. The neurologist she sees where she lives gave her the dx. I took

her to a neuro where I live (and she is moving) and he didn't think it was LBD.

So, here's my question. If she has LBD would we see some decline over a period

of 3-6 years. As far as it seems to me, she doesn't seem to be getting any

worse...which is great news. From what I have understood about LBD, I would

expect to see a decline over that time. Am I right? Any opinions about whether

you suspect it is LBD based on what I have shared? BTW, she is not on any meds.

She is anti-med. She does take lots of supplements though.

Thanks for your thoughts. I will need to " deal " with this more now that she

will be living close to me and I am trying to figure out how to best help her.
