Question and/or word of caution?

I'm fortunate in that the facility where my mother lives does consult with me on

medication issues. Today, the nurse asked about a change in meds suggested by

the pharmacy, presumably at the urging of those who cover her meds. The

suggestion was to change the Razadyne to Aricept. This is an important question

because Mom had a very bad reaction to the Aricept when it was first tried about

5 years ago. Needless to say, my answer was 'no way' and I offered to write a

letter if necessary.

So, my question would be if others have noticed a tendency to switch from one

med to a less expensive one? This isn't the first time I've gone through this,

just the most recent.

And, my word of caution is to ensure that no medication changes can occur

without consulting you as the POA.

Best wishes,

Lynn in Florida
