Guest guest
Hi all! Sorry I missed the CHARGE weekend! We wanted to go but they held the yearly parent infant program blind camp at the utah schools for the deaf and blind that same weekend. I would've loved to have gone to CA, but going to Ogden was alot cheaper and we did get alot of exciting info! I was so discouraged awhile back to read about all these two and three year olds w/vocabularies and walking and eating all kinds of things and then I ended my pity party, pulled myself together and remembered how far we have come in the world of CHARGE and I'm going to tell you about our small, but at the same time very LARGE accomplishments! is taking water from a medicine dropper now! Considering we have NEVER ever done liquids, that was incredible! I think the hot weather drove him to it and out of desperation and a hot dry mouth, he accepted that! No signs of aspiration either! Also, he said a word! Would you believe what it was? One day he was on the floor playing w/his Elmo doll and all of a sudden I start hearing this " Melmo! melmo! melmo! " Okay, it's not perfect, but its' definitely elmo with an m, so we'll take it! He's doing great in the pool too-he even swam this weekend in a very cold pool and had a great time. Anyway, we have been moving slowly but surely. I love to hear about all the things these kids are doing and I try to look toward the future in a positive way. Sometimes it's hard, but we are getting a constant lesson in how to not sweat the small stuff and take great joy in the little things that seem so insignificant to 'normal' parents! What fun, huh? Thanks for listening!
