Guest guest
My father can seem very normal at times as far as speech goes. That is when he is awake. His normal behavior includes excessive daytime sleeping, problems with vision, very messy eating, odd walking style and occasional falls. While he is sleeping during the day he has odd hand movements like he is reaching for something, whole body jerking and sometimes confusion upon waking up. When I touch his arms to try to wake him up sometimes they are extremely stiff and hard. I can't move them. During what I call episodes, he suffers confusion, hallucinations, some incontinence, inability to dress and feed self, falls frequently and doesn't sleep well, sees bugs, animals, people etc. He had three such episodes in the last year. Two that were one month apart and then he went almost 6 months without a bad episode. The last episode lasted 5 weeks and was probably exasperated by use of an antibiotic. Do others experience these periods of somewhat normalcy and then these crazy confused periods and then recovery back to their version of normalcy?
