In response to question posted on this list (I think under " miscellaneous " ):

Yes, we have done both brushing and joint compression with Danny. We have

done it at home, and his occupational therapist does it. We use a soft

plastic brush for the brushing, which we took with us from an Intensive Care

Unit at the hospital (designed to be used to scrub your hands and fingernails

before entering the ICU). Danny was very orally defensive and tactically

defensive--hated to be touched, to have anything in his mouth, etc. I don't

know if this therapy helped any, but Danny has improved in these areas. I

think these are fairly standard types of therapies, and seem to be pretty

harmless/worth a try...
