Guest guest
Natural Thyroid Hormone ADRENALSEveryone, I'm sorry to bother you all again. It's just that I've probably spent too much time online today looking things up, so now I'm confused. Here are some things that are confusing me: (1) Is adrenal insuffiency the same thing as 's? If I have all the symptoms of 's EXCEPT hyperpigmentation, including low aldosterone, how can this be 's? (I'm stage 5 of adrenal fatigue, according to this group's definition.) (2) I took synthroid (112 mcg) for one month, then switched to Naturethroid (1 grain). I think I've been having several adrenal crises since then. I'm on 25 mg of hydrocortisone daily, and it's helping, but not totally. For instance, my blood pressure after standing up this morning fell over 20 points (systolic and diastolic) to a new low of 75 over 52, and my pulse jumped from 62 bpm to 118. I'm pretty dehydrated today, and I have that same ol' headache. I've repeatedly felt hypoglycemic, but my glucose remains between 79 and 98. Looks good, but I have shakes, sweaty palms and feet, headache (!), nightmares, hunger, etc. Makes no sense to me. My insulin levels on the ASI test were low but not nonexistant. Seems like I should have high blood sugar if my insulin levels are low. (I'm thin, no signs of insulin resistance.) I'm living in the bathroom, craving salt, etc. So frustrating! But I've improved a LOT from how I felt when I took the thyroid meds without any cortisol replacement. Now they're checking me for diabetes, but WHY? It makes no sense. I'm really not sure what to do. Is this a new " normal " for my life? Will I always feel like I'm on the edge of a crisis? Any ideas? So sorry to bother you all again. I really appreciate this group! I've learned so much!
