Guest guest
Febridol is simply Tylenol with a different name. There are no problems taking it unless you have liver disease. It is not on the no-no list for LBD. Guest guest
If it is the Febridol or Febridol Clear it should be fine. It is Paracetamol which the pharma sites say is the same as Acetaminophen. One is a pill form and the Clear form dissolves in water. <http://www.ascentpharma.com.au/Content_Common/pr-ethicals-pain-management_F EBRIDOL-TAB-500mg-1000-6.seo> http://www.ascentpharma.com.au/Content_Common/pr-ethicals-pain-management_FE BRIDOL-TAB-500mg-1000-6.seo <http://pharmacycode.com/Febridol.html> http://pharmacycode.com/Febridol.html Febridol Pharmacology Acetaminophen (USAN) or Paracetamol (INN) is a popular analgesic and antipyretic drug that is used for the relief of fever, headaches, and other minor aches and pains. It is a major ingredient in numerous cold and flu medications and many prescription analgesics. It is extremely safe in standard doses, but because of its wide availability, deliberate or accidental overdoses are not uncommon. Acetaminophen, unlike other common analgesics such as aspirin and ibuprofen, has no anti-inflammatory properties or effects on platelet function, and so it is not a member of the class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs. In normal doses acetaminophen does not irritate the lining of the stomach nor affect blood coagulation, the kidneys, or the fetal ductus arteriosus (as NSAIDs can). Like NSAIDs and unlike opioid analgesics, acetaminophen does not cause euphoria or alter mood in any way. Acetaminophen and NSAIDs have the benefit of being completely free of problems with addiction, dependence, tolerance and withdrawal. If it's Febridol Plus it has codeine added and could be a problem with some people with LBD. However that would be similar to Vicodine or Hydrocodone in the US and some people with LBD do find with it. My Mil takes tylenol up to a gram every 6 hours for pain and at bedtime takes one Hydrocodone instead of one of the tylenol and does fine with that. http://www.mydr.com.au/medicines/cmis/febridol-plus-tablets Hope this helps, Dorothy From: LBDcaregivers [mailto:LBDcaregivers ] On Behalf Of Cheryl Sent: Thursday, August 18, 2011 2:42 PM To: LBDcaregivers Subject: Febridol Mum has been started on Febridol 500mg, I have had a look but can't find anything in the lists, is this an OK med?
