Guest guest
The following was requested to be shared with you all - but she has unsubscribed so won't be able to read any responses: Hello everyone, I have opted to unsubscribe to any more messages as I originally joined to receive and hopefully give some support whenever possible. My father in law 'Mac' was diagnosed with possible LBD last year and since then I've done my best to find out more about the condition for my husband, his dad and of course the rest of the family (especially) for my mum in law who was the main carer. Mac deteriorated and went from being cared for at home to rare but occasional respite in a nursing home. On 2 occasions he became dehydrated (probably forgetting to drink etc) and had been admitted to hospital, for the last time just over 2 weeks ago now. He had become impacted with his bowel and then developed pneumonia followed by septicemia. They put up a fluids drip but so far as we are aware nothing else pro-active was done for him until he finally passed away 2 weeks ago. Obviously, it's still raw for everyone right now and I think it best for me to stop receiving updates for now. I am sure that once things have settled down I'll probably re join and see what can be done on a pro-active level in any suggested ways to help those who are to suffer in the future and are struggling with LBD now. I wish you all peace and love and hope that this terrible disease can leave us with some positive experiences as well as the obvious negative one's. I've said to my husband who used to talk to his father via phone due to distance several times a week that now he will have chance to build up a closer relationship with his mum as his father was always the dominant parent. This happened to me when I lost my mum some years ago. I never really knew my dad but now I do and I am so grateful for that. Good luck and love to you all, stay strong.
