Guest guest
Hi, not sure of your name, sorry. Not even sure of my own name at this moment in time! This 'Demon Disease " takes it's toll and also, takes no prisoners, I'm finding out. Your questions....My has all three therapies you mentioned but it certainly was when he was in a better place and more stable than your mom is. IMHO, she might need to have time to absorb and connect a little bit before she is placed in a position of having to expend so much of her energy on other matters. Just a thought, especially if she hurting and feeling frightened in a strange new place. As to flu shots.....2 weeks ago all hell broke loose here because I agreed to 's having one. I've done some research since then. Discovered there is a children's SPRAY MIST they give up the nose, milder dose simply because it's for kids and also less intrusive than a shot, no fermaldahyd (sp) in it, either. I'm positive other members of the Family will have great advice for you. So sorry to hear about your mother, I wish you Blessings.   Jo >________________________________ > >To: LBDcaregivers >Sent: Monday, October 10, 2011 3:12 AM >Subject: therapy > > > >I was wondering if anyone knew if physical ,occupational, and speech therapy helps LBD patients. My mom was just put in a new memory care last week and they started doing all three therapies. She seems very upset to have people tugging at her since she is so hyper sensitive with everything. Not sure if we should stop some or all therapies until she gets to know the people there or not do them at all. My other question is flu shots . Yes or no. Thank you for your input . It has been a very hard week:( > > > > >

Guest guest
The therapists need to be reminded with our LOs to tell them what is expected, to talk them through it, slowly and patiently. For them to walk in and expect immediate cooperation becomes impossible with the progression of PDD/LBD. > > I was wondering if anyone knew if physical ,occupational, and speech therapy helps LBD patients. Guest guest
They're interesting questions, particularly regarding therapy. My father (dx with LBD early this year) also has heart problems and his cardiologist has suggested, due to Dad's unsteadiness on his feet he try hydrotherapy. So I'm in the process of organising that. I will get in the pool as well...provided we can actually get him to go. He hated the idea when I suggested it about 6 months ago but fingers crossed he'll give it a go and actually like it/benefit from it.
