Guest guest
About 5 years ago I was put on Zyprexa 5mg for sleeplessness. I had also been put on Zoloft for Post Traumatic Stress, Anxiety & Depression. The Zoloft took care of the PTS, Anxiety & Depression, but nothing helped with the sleeplessness until Zyprexa. The doctor told me to try to get off the Zyprexa after a year. I cut the 5mg pill in half for 2 weeks, then in half again for a week then quit altogether. After a few days I experienced insomnia, heart palpitations, nausea, lightheadedness, and general felt like crap, so thinking I still needed the Zyprexa I went back on it. I have tried to get off of it 3 more times and each time had the same symptoms only more severe each time. I just recently got back on the Zyprexa. From visiting with some who have gone through this I now know it is Zyprexa withdrawal and it was suggested to me to taper off more slowly. I have decided to try the 10% reduction every 2 weeks. Has anyone had mor luck doing this slow tapering? I need some incouragement, I don't want to stay on this drug, but don't want to go through that horrendous withdrawal. Thanks for all you help.
