Guest guest
Power is back on and there are many paid and unpaid helpers now at the house. I called the Social Worker to tell me the schedule (every time I asked Mom - she said I'll tell you sometime) and the Soc. Worker gave me schedule and also that there were unpaid workers Volunteers available ! but they just sit and talk and can't do anything medical or hygiene. So my sister arranged for Aides and CNA's to cover day and night - RN is coming everyday to insert catheter, etc. He is not-communicating and having vivid hallucinations and I have a broken heart right now. When I get home, I literally pass-out on couch and then bed because it drains me so completely to see him like that. But all is well with the helpers and this agency provides everything and if they can't fill a shift, they give us number to the next agency to do it - yesterday there was an overlap of 2 aides from 2 different companies - and they never met before and they were working together to change all his wet clothes and bedding and then do the laundry - amazing women ! Thanks for all your suggestions - if I get a minute I will look into the support groups you suggested, but I don't have a minute right now. Also, the stress has aggravated my illness and I have to rest a bit and designate time not to have any action regarding this issue - like a little break time. But we have a ton of support and everything is in place that is needed. H
