Guest guest
Hi ! In 2010 and in 2011, my Dad ended up in hospital for a week, then doctors both times - different hospitals, different doctors - would not release him to home without going to Inpatient Rehab - to learn how to stand up, how to walk, etc. - He was doing all that just days before - both years. Without Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and the aides helping him so much - he would not have improved and learned how to stand up and walk. He complained and my mother complained - it was so awful having these strangers intruding on their lives, where " they got along fine " NOT !! It helped - so much. Then they came to the house for 6 weeks. Then speech therapy came and was great too. But every day, they wanted to fire them all. Everyday it " was just terrible having these people around " . the folks are not going to be happy about it - not for one second. But my sister and I were very happy about it and with the results. Now, when we want to hire someone (my mother fired them all 2 months ago) she says " let me ask Dad " . Then " get along just fine " . Dad is very, very, very sick right now - and the dementia and confusion and hallucinations are prevalent. Anyway, I think I got off track But the bottom line is YES it is helpful. And will the patient like it NO - they will not like it. H, Massachusetts
