Guest guest
hello, i cannot drink a lot of milk, although i drink 2 cups a day of 1% milk, if i drink more milk than 2 cups per day, i would get bloated, and puffy sewmissy2 wrote: Hi Cherwyn, How frightening for you to have learned that your daughter has this. I would look into giving your daughter Raw milk, rather than pasturized, homogenized milk. Raw is so much better and the minerals are so much more available. http://mysite.verizon.net/jsschleh/gardenhomefarm/id18.html Raw milk is rich in enzymes and contains all 22 of the essential amino acids, the building blocks of life1, including phosphate. Phosphate is essential for the absorption of calcium and is plentifully present in raw milk but is completely destroyed by pasteurization. Prosphatase is an essential agent to the proper development of a strong skeletal structure. The enzyme lipase is also present in raw milk. Lipase aids in the digestion of fats. It is destroyed by pasteurization as well. 2. Lactase, an enzyme that helps with milk digestion and in the digestion of lactose, is in raw milk3. Dr. ph Mercola said on his web site, In my opinion raw milk is the finest source of calcium available. It is just not the same as what you buy in a store..way better! I think a lot of the bad press for dairy products are a result of the very unhealthy pasturization and homogenization. Anyway, hope this helps! Missy > > Hi, > She had osteopenia up until 18 mos. ago, when I began to treat her myself according to our guidelines. Too much HC? HELP!!! I feel so very very guilty, she takes in lots of calcium through milk products and gets exercise through school. Have given her Twinlab Tri-Boron Plus, a supplement containing calcium citrate, magnesium (2-1 ratio), boron, vitamin D almost the whole time. > > I feel as though it must have been my treatment of her with the thyroid and the HC. I can't imagine how else a teenager who is supposed to be building bone and is doing all the right things, could get this far into bone loss. I should have been checking her pulse. Maybe that would have tipped me off if her Armour was too high. I went more by symptoms like energy, feeling well, emotional/mental state, etc. > > Do you have any thoughts? Have I done this to her by not checking her pulse very often? Should I have been getting her tested all along regularly? Dr. says osteopenia can be reversed, but not osteoporosis. But she's never treated a child for osteoporosis, so I'm holding out hope that being a teen and in the time of life when she can build bone, maybe we can push this thing back (unlike with a grown woman). > > Dr. is talking about maybe a pharmaceutical, once-a-month or once- a-week osteoporosis drug, but she's researching it first to learn if it is safe to administer to children. But don't those medications break down jawbone tissue in some people? > > I hope I haven't destined her for being a hunchback as an old lady...Already I have had to tell her she can't do anything that could make her fall, she could break her back. It feels horrible to be telling this to your kid. But I know some people have it a lot worse - kids with leukemia, etc., so I'm trying to take this in stride. I just wish I didn't have the guilt to compound it. I had always thought her osteopenia was because she was hypo and untreated all her life until the age of 13, and her bone just couldn't build quickly enough. I thought that being on thyroid hormone she would begin to build that bone up. Instead ,she is worsening. I just don't know what to think or to do. The Dr. did a serum thyroid test today, we'll find out what it says on Friday. Maybe it'll be revealing but I doubt it, since some people need suppressed TSH to be at their best. I just don't put much stock in those tests. > > My own bone scan results come in on Friday. I'm nervous - had osteopenia before, like my daughter, and I know I did go hyper a bit this summer by not waiting on each dose raise long enough. I raised every two weeks but I probably should have been more patient. My heart rate eventually went WAY UP, and my basal temps were on the high side, too. I bet I'll get the same test results. I hope not, though!! Thanks for listening! > > > Thanks, > Cherwyn > > >
Guest guest
The edema ios most liekly because your body is intolerant to things due to being hypothyroid. I could not digest milk well and took Lactaid for years when I was hypothyroid but not anymore and I love milk and drink alot of it. I also eat yogurt alot as well. Neither bothers me now thta my thyroid is optimal. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store (Closing after Xmas!!!) http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
