Guest guest
Bonnie I have a friend that is an RN in the emergency dept - she says that there are many elderly patients with elevated blood pressure and edema after the Easter dinner - due to the high salt in the ham dinners- so I am thinking that Chinese food is extremely salted and the salt caused the elevated blood pressure, due to retaining fluids from high salt intake. This is just my thought on the subject - that is salt to be avoided - not the MSG. MSG is a naturally occurring substance - for instance it is naturally occurring in tomatoes and other foods. in MA (Dad in CT) (I have been making home-made soup for my very sick Dad - with low-sodium broth and fresh veggies and very small cut-up chicken - due to he is having trouble swallowing and is at the end-stage of LBD - not ambulatory and in Hospice care at home )
