Guest guest
Hi, I'm new here and am looking for some guidance. My husband hasn't been diagnosed or even seen regarding this matter as of yet. Here's some history...he's very young at least in terms of dementia, he's only 35. His grandfather had alzheimers. He is under a neurologist's care for what they term restless leg but I think is a small fiber neuropathy...he has burning in his feet/legs but no voluntary movements and moving them doesn't relieve any sensations. His toes used to move involuntarily and he used to twitch in his sleep but gabapentin is helping that. He was on Lyrica for a short time but he had horrible nightmares if killing himself so they switched him. He's had constipation problems from childhood but coffee and magnesium seem to keep him regular. They've diagnosed him with Irritable Bowel Syndrome....dairy seems to be a trigger. Here's my concern. When he was in his 20's he had two instances of hallucinations...he doesn't think they were hallucinations. He believes it was a real instance but that it was a spirit (not an actual living person). He could describe the man in detail and said the man shook his leg (it was at night but he was awake...hadn't gone to sleep yet....he found out afterwards that the person he described sounded like the previous owner before my husband was even born). The other instance was when he saw a bottle cap fly off the counter and noone else was around. Those were the two he's told me about from yrs ago. In the last year he's told me about a few more that happened now where he can describe the people. He's also always seen things for many years since his 20's....like a feeling someone there, seeing a motion out if the corner of his eye etc. He swears someone us there at work...the lights go off and on, etc. He truly believes in ghosts, spirits and paranormal activity. Anyway, in the last year he was sleeping and swears he woke up and saw an image of a little boy (mind u this was at my parents house where my father swears there's a boy ghost based on old articles). He also saw at our house a guy in a trench coat on the side if our house when mowing the lawn...again only happened once. He also saw a while ago a man in khakis and polo shirt hauling a** as my husband puts it through his bldg at work. He thought at first it was his dad (they own the business together) but realized it wasnt....I believe he may have initially tried to say something to him but not sure. When he realized it wasn't his dad he assumed it was another spirit. About a month or so ago he saw this person again (same exact thing) and then again just about a week or so ago. This was the first exp of an image recurring. A few months ago he saw a little boy at work (doesnt know if ssme boy from before as faces arent Always cleaTheseus says the boy (spirit to him) was messing with him like paranormal activity....things were moved and he was the only one there and knows he didn't move them. He said he thinks his grandfathers spirit is there cause the lights go off and when he says gramps turn the lights on they go back on....again hd believes paranormal activity. These episodes are sporadic and more often it's just a feeling of someone there or shadows or motions he sees out of the corner of his eye. I was getting concerned, especially of the one that rebutted 3 times and looked up hallucinations and found all info on LBD. He never hears voices and he said the " spirits " never try to contact/speak to him. I'm scared this is the start of the dementia. He does have some autonomic issues....constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, burning feet/legs that I think are misdiagnosed, sometimes his fingers/toes are cold and I don't know why (not all the time), his ears get really red after a shower, his feet would twitch when sleeping, his body shook really bad once and his hand another time last year while sleeping. He had a sleep study and all was fine but he had Lyrica in him at the time (and in his system for about a week) so that could have skewed it and his twitches/shaking weren't all the time. Dr said his brain MRI looked good last year and his EEG had very mild bursts of beta that he wasn't concerned about....they were testing him because of the burning and twitching at night. Does this sound like the very start of LBD, even at 35? Thank you in advance for your help.
