Guest guest
The purpose of Hospice is to help in the dying process - when there is no treatment or hope and the dying process as already begun. The patient usually dies from UTI or pneumonia - I was told by my friend that is a PA with hospice. the Hospice at home that we have says - don't call 911 - call them 24/7. They only make patient comfortable. We have hospice at home for Dad right now. One thing to remember - it sounds so nice to be able to die at home - but not everyone is cut out for this traumatic and very long and drawn out process. We are learning this now. Its good for the patient but very hard on the family to watch this. - with the hallucinations and all that comes with the end with LBD. Hospice said Dad would pass on in days or maybe one week. They said that Nov. 1 and now it is Dec 7 and this is really agony to witness. They are doing it right - the workers that are in the house. Its just hard when you love someone and they are in the grips of something so terrible.
