Guest guest
Today is better - still no power - for SEVEN days !!! I spoke to CL & P - to a human being, last night and today and I FB messaged them and they emailed me back - and I told them the situation. Its supposed to be repaired by tonight or tomorrow. Today I made soup and a bunch of hot water for washing - with a STERNO catering set-up that my husband showed me how to use. I stayed for just 4 hours today, then my sister and the aides came so I left to do what I have to do. Nothing is easy with no power. My power just came on, but due to the fact he is hard to move and all the aides and social workers, RN's etc thru CT agency - and he wants to be home. - they stayed home. You would not believe what I went thru to try to get him out of there on Monday - then I went on business trip with husband for 2 days - to a HOTEL - then back to them. They only live 22 miles from me - but it is back-roads and takes 1-1/2 hours due to the trees and crews working - much of the roads are single file due to the workers. The workers trucks are from NC, Missouri, Michigan and FL, and a bunch say " Appalachia Power " . probably more places. And the National Guard is all around. So now that its been one week,. I think things are starting to happen. But how did they expect us to be OK when nights are in the 20's and there is no heat ? There was no sense of urgency and no trucks till it was almost one week. Also the Fire Dept came to move him from the couch to the hospital bed. Social worker at hospice told us to call them - and they were great and moved him into the hospital bed. Now I don't have to worry about him falling down anymore. Thanks Judy and all of you for your great support and I will keep you posted Love,
