My son recently tested positive for a yeast overgrowth, candida p and

all yeast sensitivities. We purchased the book " Feast Without Yeast "

and started the diet right away. I am concerned about all of the

potato recipes. Aren't potatoes a starch? Are they going to feed the

yeast? I am really confused and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-You,

Hi ,

I would look into the SCD diet as well. The complex carbohydrates in grains,

potatoes, etc. are harder to digest and therefore remain in the gut and ferment

and it exacerbates the yeast by feeding the yeast.

My daughter was on the diet in the 'Feast without Yeast' book and we didn't

see any difference in her bloating, loose stools, etc. and it was also

depressing because she could eat no fruit. But when we started the SCD diet

(www.pecanbread.com) we saw immediate results. We are doing the casein free

version of the diet and we don't give her apples and grapes because they are

liked by yeast.

Also be aware that some people haven't had good experiences with the SCD diet,

see some posts from a few weeks ago.

Good luck,

Jena
