Guest guest
Dear listmates, my son's immune system has been very weak since he was 19 days old, ear infeccions, colds, etc. Can't remember spending a full month without at least one or two weeks sick. We began LDN about three months ago and finally after almost four years of sickness, he's doing great. Everyone around gets the flu or whatever and he might get a little runny nose for few hours and gone, he's also going for swimming classes three times a week and zero ear infeccions, please give it a try! Thanks Dr. McCandless, I hope you get better soon, Aloha, Mane'
Guest guest
: Emu oil is the best carrier for the transdermal, and Coastal Compounding in Savannah GA is very willing to provide the formulation for any licensed pharmacist who asks. For the capsules, I prefer Avicel. It is very important for the caps to NOT be filled with calcium carbonate or anything that is prolonged excretion - LDN needs to go in immediately for the one hit dose to be effective. Transdermal and capsules are equally effective. For those with gut issues (or of course those who cannot swallow caps) the transdermal is preferable. In terms of price, though I love Coastal, Skip's in Florida has the best prices of any other pharmacy I know of, and make it to above specifications. Dr. JM Subject: LDN To: csb-autism-rx Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 4:08 AM Hi all, I have a question about the formulation of LDN. My son has been on LDN for about two years now and doing well. He has ADHD< Asperger's, Asthma, hypothyroidism and more.... Due to loss of income, I recently switched from Lee Silsby Pharmacy, who does not take my insurance and has high shipping costs, to a local compounding pharmacy who does take my insurance. The new pharmacy is willing to work with me and is very open minded. My question is this, we are seeing a deterioration in behavior and overall health. I am wondering if this could be due to a difference in the LDN formulary. Does anyone know what the best base is to mix the LDN in.I believe ours is currently mixed in Emu oil. Also, I have noticed on the LDN website, that they use capsules. What, if any, differences are there in using capsules vs topical cream? I hate for finances to play a role in this, but the reality is that I have to not only provide his medication, but food and housing. The pharmacy is open to suggestions and learning. Thanks in Houston
Guest guest
Dr. MaCandless, Thank you! I had asked the pharmacy to contact Coastal, which I believe they did. My local pharmacy is charging less than I was paying, and best of all, I just pay the co-pay and no shipping! We do have gut issues, so will stick with the transdermal. One last question, what is the best place on the body to apply transdermal? He likes the front of his shins. I use transdermal bio-identical hormones and have noticed I need to shift application places every few months or I lose effect. Anything like that with LDN? Thanks again... in Houston > > > Subject: LDN > To: csb-autism-rx > Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 4:08 AM > > > > > > > Hi all, > > I have a question about the formulation of LDN. Guest guest
Since most parents put the TD-LDN on the kids after they are asleep, they just apply whatever skin area they can find. For adults, I say soft parts of the body (no hairy, tanned, or skin thickened areas) but little guys are soft everywhere, so I don't think it really matters. Some people say put it where the skin is thin, like wrists or behind the knees, but the stuff is extremely bitter, so putting it somewhere where they might taste it would not be a good idea. Shins are fine! Dr. JM Subject: Re: LDN To: csb-autism-rx Date: Thursday, January 22, 2009, 6:23 AM Dr. MaCandless, Thank you! I had asked the pharmacy to contact Coastal, which I believe they did.
