Kerri hasn't read the book, I've heard the movie is fabulous and want to see it.

I'm currently reading the Harry Potter books with so I don't know if I'll

get to it while the movie is still on the big screen.

:) No problems!

Isn't Jacquie nice! I just realized how unsympathetic my response might

have sounded. I hope it didn't! I just really think it is probably better

to read the book first. Or if Kerri read it sixteen years ago, to re-read

it.

Re: Salli Goes to a MOVIE!

Honey I shrunk the audience is a big NO NO!!!

Kerri

RE: Salli Goes to a MOVIE!

Wow!!!! The MOST impressive part of this was there was no... " but Putter

kept running up and down the aisles " or " Enrique felt a spider under the

chair " ...etc. etc.

Good for you guys Salli!!!!!

P.S - If you ever get to Disneyland, DO NOT take Enrique to go see " Honey,

I

shrunk the kids " .

Penny :-)

>>>> (if you ever want the detailed account of how many times I ruined my

life, let me know.)<<<<

We'll have to share war stories sometime....

I was quite able to read...I did VERY well in school!!!!!

I even READ Gone With The Wind when I was a Freshman!!!! I loved that

book!!!

But I didn't really have anyone behind me pushing me to go in a direction

that was most beneficial to me, so I missed out on a lot.

Oh well...guess I turned out ok.

>>Grace, I used to feel that way too. And if I saw a person alone in the

line up, I'd feel so bad for them...<<

Yep. Every time I see a person in the theatre alone, or eating alone, I am

COMPELLED to go and eat with them. Only... the people with me always

succeed in stopping me LOL, since I wouldn't have the guts to go and sit

with them anyhow.

>There was something I wanted to see at the matinee, so I decided just to

take the plunge. IT WAS WONDERFUL. Nobody talking to me, nobody hogging

the armrest... and it's especially nice that if you hate the movie, you can

just get up and leave. Watching " Invaders From Mars " , I went to the

bathroom halfway through, realized I didn't care how it ended, and went

shopping!<

Yeah. That is what I am told. Shaun likes it.

Me, I just cannot do it. I'm sure I'd like it. But I can't do it. LOL

I would go and rent 10 videos to sit and watch by myself all weekend long,

but I can't go in and sit by myself!!! I can't!

>The only time I ever felt uncomfortable was when I went to see 'There's

Something About ' in my hometown -- and an old boyfriend was there with

his wife.<

THUD.

Grace faints to the floor at the mere thought.

I don't like eating alone, but I always have gone to movies by myself, it never

bothered me, I enjoyed it. I got to see what I wanted to!

I learned my lesson with this, too, Grace! :-)

I was in the mall in my hometown, on my lunchbreak from my job. (this was

high school or jsut after) There was this little old man sitting in the

food court, drinking a coffee all by himself. My eyes filled with tears,

and my stomach lurched as I imagined this poor old man with nobody at home

and nobody to love him...on my way to my table, I passed his so I could give

him a friendly smile, and as I smiled I said...

" Oh. Hi Dad! Mom at home? "

The man I'd been pitying from behind and afar was my father.

Whoops!

Great story! I read it out loud to who was also very amused.

Thanks!

Salli who doesn't mind going to movies alone at all, who in fact would love

to go ANYWHERE alone, even to the bathroom alone if it could just be

arranged somehow

One that I never forgot. :-) Writing that story, I remembered it all so

clearly even though it was at least 14 years ago, that's how big an impression

that it made!
