I've not tried HCL so I'll look into that. However, I don't have acid

reflux, heartburn or anything else in that direction - it's more the

other end where i have problems...LOL!

Hi Robin ~

Actually, using HCL can help on that end, too. ;) A dear friend of mine

suffered fairly severe IBS from taking his many anxiety/bi-polar meds. One

day after dinner, my husband and I were taking our HCL and he tried it ...

and, in his words, " it changed my life. " He keeps bottles at the office, at

home, and a supply in a key chain attachment. Zypan from Standard Process.

Amazing stuff.

take care,

~

p.s. I've since talked to this friend about hypoT and hypoAdrenal as being

at the core of his bi-polar. He was a Navy fighter pilot who flew in the

first Gulf War. Do ya think maybe his adrenals are shot? oy.

How does HCL help your digestion? I've been trying to recover from gut burning

from HC

alone (even though I was taking w/food..seemed to flare up) and thought the HCL

might

exacerbate that. Doesn't it cause burning too?

Hi Venezia ~

I take HCL in the form of a product called Zypan by Standard Process. You

can order it from www.naturamart.com, or check www.standardprocess.com for a

practitioner (chiro, etc) who sells it.

From the product info I have:

Zypan is a Pepsin and Hydrochloric Acid supplement. HCL acid products run

in contradistinction to the most popular drug of the modern era: the

antacid. The antacid is very poor biochemistry, as it neutralizes one of

the most important of all bodily secretions, HCL. Zypan provides pepsin and

HCL to aid in the digestive process. The product contains betaine

hydrochloride, pancreatin, and pepsin. It is used to help people who cannot

digest their food properly due to insufficient digestive enzymes in the

stomach and duodenum.

take care,

~

Hi ~

No burning at all from my HCL, Zypan. It stopped the burning from the

Isocort immediately.

You go, girl! :)

I take 1 Zypan tablet with every meal AND whenever I take Isocort. If you want to help your digestive system out a little more, take 2 Multi-zyme and 1 AF Betafood with each meal (both from Standard Process).

AF Betafood: used to help thin the bile and promote better liver and gall bladder function. Used to help control cholesterol and triglycerides, and digest fats better. Poor fat digestion causes nausea, gas, bloating, and cramps. Its ingredients are Vitamin A in a base of unsaturated fatty acids (vitamin F), comined with Betafood (dehydrated green beet leaf juice).

Multi-zyme: digestive enzyme is a strong aid in the complete breakdown of ingested foods. Complete protein breakdown.

And... no... I don't work for Standard Process! I've just used their products for years and they are of the highest quality available. 100% natural, made from raw organic materials. No synthetics.

take care,

~
