Guest guest
I saw my internist (PC) on Thursday and my neurologist on Friday. On Thursday I found out I've hung on to the 11 pounds I lost before Thanksgiving. (I actually lost 15 pounds but I'm still happy). More good news is that my blood pressure was 120/80. I have high BP and I've been on medication for it for about 10 years but it still usually runs up around 130/90 or even higher. AND my yearly EKG was PERFECT. LOLOL... I was very pleased. Not bad for a big old fat girl, huh???? Now I will get back to my diet after New Years. And after I finish eating all the goodies I was given for Christmas. I just finished my pan of lemon bars from Challis! She gave me a new baking pan with a lid and it was filled with lemon bars! lol I love those things! The neuro appointment went well too. I told him I credit LDN with the further reduction in my leg pain, but he didn't say much. I think he actually doesn't believe in LDN but he gave it to me because he doesn't think it will hurt me. When I asked for it at the last appointment he said "I have no problem with you taking Naltrexone. It has low incidence of side effects". This time I asked for an increase in the LDN dose from 3 mgs. to 3.5 mg. and he gave it to me. He looked over my medication list and agreed with the way I'm taking them (I always play around with my meds to see what works the best for me--but I'm honest with the doc about it). He asked me if I've decided not to be on MS drugs and I told him my plan is to try the LDN for awhile and if I continue to feel better on it then I would stay with it unless an MRI shows more lesions/progression. If there is progression then I will go on an MS drug again. The neuro reviewed my latest MRI films done in June and he said my neck is "non surgical". lol... I don't know why I think that's so funny but I chuckle each time I say it. I have some damage to the discs in my neck in the area where it was broken. In addition, he examined the films of my neck and the previous films of my spine searching for lesions but he said he couldn't see any. He said they may be there but may not be showing up. He said lesions in my neck or spine would explain my leg pain. The EMG results were that I have nothing "treatable" that is the cause of my leg pain. I don't have polyneuropathy or anything like that. Dr. K said the leg pain is from the MS. I think that was about it and I'll see him again in 3 months. hugs)))Sharon If the government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take away everything you have. - Gerald Ford__________________________________________________
