Guest guest
Your RT3/T3 ratio is 11.8 which is way too low. Were you on any thyroid meds when you did these tests? The onyl thyroid med oyu should take is T3 only with these labs adn you may be pleasantly surprised and find it helps oyu immensely. Cortisol testign while on meds is VERY inaccurate. The folks that are well adjusted on HC usually come oput super high oin dslaiva testign while taking it due ot the wy it is metabolized taking it orally. Guest guest
Thanks, , for getting back so quickly! I'm not sure how to proceed. I have a feeling none of the drs I go to regular or alternative will give me a script for T3. They all think I'm crazy. I was not on any thyroid meds. It was 4 weeks ago that I did the NT for 2 days. The labs were from last week. I have some Cortef but I don't want to start that because I don't know if I will be able to get a script for that either. I will raise my Isocort to 20mg and go from there. I'm sure my adrenals are far from strong. Can fixing my T3 help with stomach problems? (I have diarrhea again today) So where do I start????? :) Liz ___________________________________ www.ojaipaintedminis.com http://fineartamerica.com/artwork/tag/liz+vernand From: RT3_T3 [mailto:RT3_T3 ] On Behalf Of TSent: Saturday, September 27, 2008 8:03 AMTo: RT3_T3 Subject: Re: Questions Your RT3/T3 ratio is 11.8 which is way too low. Guest guest
Correcting low T3 can correct many problems. I also have IBS form low T3 and still have bouts occasionally, but they are better. Guest guest
Would you recommend me contacting someone like Dr. Lowe for an online consult? Can they prescribe from phone consults? I live not to far from Dr. Holtorf but I can't afford his prices. Not sure how to get the T3 Liz ___________________________________ www.ojaipaintedminis.com http://fineartamerica.com/artwork/tag/liz+vernand
Guest guest
Liz: Is there a Fibro & Fatigue Center (FFC) in your area? http://www.fibroandfatigue.com/ FFC docs will Rx T3. You don't need to have been dx'd with Fibromyalgia or CFS to go there. They take anyone for hormonal consults. They are expensive too, and they don't take insurance. But if you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance, you can file a claim. I doubt they are as expensive as Holtorf. BTW, Holtorf was the founding Medical Director for the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers! Guest guest
Okay, thanks, ! How does one find a dr that will help them instead of preaching what they think is wrong with us or what we should or shouldn't try? They don't seem to have a problem dispensing anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. I will continue my search. When I do find a dr to help, what might be a good starting to dose to suggest to them? Guest guest
The thing with T3 is you can raise it fast enough you dont; wnt to get JUST a starting dose. I would shoot for 75mcg daily as that is where you should be 6-8 weeks off all Armour or T4 meds. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
That's what I thought, too, but last week when I was on too high a dose of T3 (but also 10mgs too much Isocort), I had very hard, rock-like stools. (I know ~ just what everyone wants to talk about, right?) It isn't as severe as last week. -----Original Message-----From: RT3_T3 [mailto:RT3_T3 ]On Behalf Of TSent: Sunday, September 28, 2008 12:10 PMTo: RT3_T3 Subject: Re: Questions Nope not liekely high thyroid is known ot cause diarrhea. Guest guest
Dr. Lowe should be excellent for an online consult, however you will still need an MD to Rx the cytomel or other thyroid meds if you aren't willing to self-treat. He is a chiro and cannot prescribe these meds. However, if you do consult and you want to try T3, you CAN get it yourself, but it is getting more and more difficult to do so, and I'm not sure that will change anytime soon, or ever. sol Liz Vernand wrote: > Would you recommend me contacting someone like Dr. Lowe for an online > consult?
