Guest guest
from Ron: asd@... I've been away from the discussion groups for 6 months -- and missing the great exchange of information. Always something valuable to learn in the quest to help our kids, families, and friends. I promised to let you know when I posted my site concerning toxic body burden and how it is involved with ASDs and other illnesses. As a quick recap, I'm simply the father of who is now 7 and considerably recovered. Before starting treatments guided by DAN! he had 3 separate ASD diagnoses before age 3 -- Asperger's, PDD-NOS, and Autism. Most people who meet today have no inkling he's anywhere " on the spectrum " . Those of us closest to him understand the challenges still to overcome. For one, chemical sensitivities are a tough sea to navigate. The web site came about for several reasons. In particular I needed a more efficient way to communicate basic ideas to a growing number of people. There wasn't another site I could reference that explained excitotoxins and vaccine ingredients in the context of toxic burden and the onset of illnesses (including ASDs). Also, during the course of treating we would stumble over gaps in knowledge or sometimes things just wouldn't make sense. So I would dig in and investigate. The web site helps round up some of the information people have indicated is useful. The site is not like Generation Rescue (I'm humbled in its shadow) and it is not a blog. It is a collection of facts and observations supported by research. I have included relevant links to PubMed, Toxnet, and other investigative authors. Some of the info may already be familiar. I am confident some things will be new. Endocrine disruptors have been discussed in several threads. I have tried to summarize a few, for instance Bisphenol-A <http://www.sailhome.org/Concerns/BodyBurden/Burdens/Bisphenol-A.html> PBDEs <http://www.sailhome.org/Concerns/BodyBurden/Burdens/PBDE.html> I've also attempted to explain hormesis and synergistic toxicity <http://www.sailhome.org/Concerns/BodyBurden/Hormesis.html> <http://www.sailhome.org/Concerns/BodyBurden/Synergistic.html> People who have been in the group for a long time might simply jump to the Site Map and see if anything of interest is covered. Feel free to pass along this site to anyone you think can benefit. Comments are welcome through the Contact page. Big thanks to Binstock for all the great posts and excellent leads. I wish I could explore them all. And ---- I surely haven't said it enough: thank you everyone who has helped my child in recovery. He is one swell kid :-) -Ron ***
