When to re-evaluate for ION?

Hi listmates. My son is almost 4 y.o.His initial biomed evaluation was

done 16 months ago and right away started giving more than 20 different

things. On the area of nutrition we did ION (Individual Optimum

Nutrional) testing by Metametrix and that's our basis for

supplementation. How long do you wait before doing another ION? I

wonder if there are other nutrients that we can stop giving or should

we just continue on until chelation is over? We have done other testing

after the initial ones aside from ION. Aside from the costs, it is

drawing blood that is more torturing.

Hi, Sheila:  I appreciate your consideration not to bother me, but happen to

have a bit of time today for a change (it is Sunday here in Israel).  The

follow-up after 4-6 months from the initial ION (unless the child is doing

terribly) is a urine Organix, a stool analysis, and another hair analysis - this

gives plenty of info to see whether you can let go some things, and no blood is

necessary for these.  At some point it is good to do a follow-up Vit D level,

but by then (after the holidays) maybe the finger stick for that (which isn't

fun either but it is over very quickly and you can do it at home) will be

perfected.  Most kids are needing more per past evals including your son than

current recommendations are stating - the upper range which used to be 50 is now

70-90, so I would increase doses especially for the winter to 3000iu daily, can

be 2000iu in summer with lots of good sun. Dr. JM
