The Lyme_and_Rife group is dedicated to Lyme Disease and Rife technology.

These are general rules for everyone.

NO BASHING OF OTHER'S POSTS, no matter what your feelings are. If you can't discuss it in a respectful, rational, polite manner, then walk away if you can't say anything nice …..

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM/QUESTION/CONCERN, CONTACT ME PRIVATELY. Health issues are discussed on group, issues pertaining to the group or an individual should be discussed with me off group.

REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A GROUP OF PEERS, NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. Every message that is posted is just that; from your peers. It is not medical advice, no one is TELLING you to do something, no one is FORCING you to buy something. We cannot assure the accuracy or validity of any message. It is the opinion of the posting member only. We don't diagnose, prescribe or tell others what treatments they must do. Again, if it's questionable, contact me off group.

REMEMBER TO BE SUPPORTIVE AND HELPFUL. That is why we are all here.

• NO CHARACTER ASSASSINATION. It is so important we do not defame another group member or a member of another group!! Making statements that hurts a person's reputation is defamation, it is unacceptable on this group. This is why I will never allow anyone to talk about another person in the 3rd person on group and you also need to be careful about what you say about another person to them directly on group… If you say anything that hurts someones reputation online on any group or blog or anywhere in the Internet, that is Defamation of Character. It is best never to speak ill of anyone if they are not there to defend themselves, such as someone away from the group or someone on another group… So be nice to others and think well of them. You can say to someone on group "please stop swearing," as this is a truthful statement about something they are doing if they have been swearing… But you can not say you are a druggie and an idiot!! That is defamation…

This also pertains to references to companies and their products… You can say "I don't like Brayer Aspirin, but you can't say Brayer Aspirin is poison." If you have a problem with another group member, write to me privately..

And remember, once you post something on a support group or blog about someone, a company or product, it becomes public knowledge and it is permanent… You can not go back and change it!! Say the wrong thing and you may be sued for Defamation!!! It is best just not to say anything derogatory or negative about another person.

Be well, be nice :-)

Jim

Hi Jodie,I learned shortly after joining my first Lyme group, an argument erupted on group andit become a very stressful time for the group and I really felt this stress also.... I didn't know

what to think of it as it was a new experience for me to see several people involved in a bigargument.. I was so glad to find that group and now it was not a stressless place anymore.

Over time as more and more fights broke out, more and more members complained or juststayed away for a while, I realized support groups were not made for stressful situationsand each time some members would leave the group... Unfortunately, arguments seemed

to be a part of the culture every once in a while.Since I took over this group about 2 1/2 years ago, we have not have a single major stressfulsituation and I was really proud of this... I've been a member of 5 Lyme support groups, each

seemed to blow up every several months, so 2 1/2 years was a good long run.... Then for about a month, things got out of hand here, doesn't take more than a few people to cause

this and it was really the first time I had to work as a moderator... I leaned some lessons andwill be more prepared going forward.. These issues now have been resolved and peace is back and I hope we can now make it to another

2 1/2 years or much longer of a stressful group... I don't like fighting, stress and I will do whateveris necessary to see this does not happen again...I can promise you and everyone, peace and a stressless environment is of the utmost importance

to me... We all have our own stresses to deal with, there never should be any stress on this group, this is a place we all can come to and not have to worry about stresses, just helping each other

get better from Lyme and these diseases.. And I was just thinking of my very first post as Moderator of this group, it was on February 10, 2010...It explains exactly how I felt back then and still do!!

Here it is!  :-)http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lyme_and_Rife/message/9793
