Guest guest
My son (ASD) will be 17 in July, and we have been doing dietary and biomedical interventions since he was 11. He has made a lot of progress but still has not grown much. He is a hair shy of 5' and weighs 80lbs. His doctor is not a DAN! doctor but seems pretty well versed in the protocol, does do a lot of Yasko, Doctors Data hair analysis, Metametrix testing. He bills himself as practicing 'functional' medicine and is focused on getting to the cause of the problem - believes in specialized diets and suppliments. He feels that we should look into to some endocrinology testing to check the growth hormone as well as testosterone levels. Does anyone have any experience with this? The doctor feels that abnormal levels could be causing some of what we are seeing and maybe some adjustment is in order. I am really leary of 'adjustments', preferring to take the natural approach. But, am also concerned that maybe there is some optimal window when physical change into adulthood should occur. My son is in high school but has no normal muscle development, no hair on his legs like the other boys. Even just his size sets him out as different, let alone the ASD. I did not find this addressed in the CSB book and thought I would ask here. Lynette
