Guest guest
Hey Carol The way I know this way is for us. We went to the dr for Ray today, he is a diabetic at one time a very bad diabetic. When He found out that he was diabetic his sugar was over 700, Over the years his sugar did come down but only with insulin, but stilled stayed at the range of 200 to over 300 with only a few (few and far between) of any lower. We started on this WOE, thinking it was only a diet. Something that will fail just like all the others (Weight watchers, richard simmons, low fat, high carb). Now we know that this is a way of LIFE.. Yes, we may not always be faithful to this WOE, nevertheless we always jump right back on and Kick it in the you know what.. Anyway, his doctor told him that if his reports came back as good as the last time he will take him off the Amryl completely, (now he only takes half a pill 2 mg) but will stay on his Gloucphage. Also that he could come off his blood pressure since it was staying down. Ray finally told him that he has not taken his BP medicine for a while. NO I do not suggest anyone to this, I myself did not like it when Ray did this. But he was having dizzy spells, after he stopped taking the BP medicine they went away. His Bp was 110/80 today.. By the Way he is off insulin. He has a lot more energy.. The mood swings, Let me tell you a woman on PMS had nothing on him. I used to kid him about going to the bathroom in a good mood and coming out in the most terrible, horrible mood.. It was pins and needles. All that has changed now.. Here is some of his #'s 2-16-00 (we went on the diet 2-29-00) Weight 265 cholesterol 219 tryglycerides 357 Hbaic 6.8 5-18-00 weight 205 cholesterol 151 tryglycerides 173 hbaic 6.0 When we get the new test results. I will post them for you guys to see.. Sorry so long,

Guest guest
For those who are diabetics on meds, make sure you keep checking your BG and stay connected with your doctor for adjustments. We have heard a few horror stories of folks whose BG and BP came down due to LC, and they were still taking their full strength meds, which can lead to problems with them being too low! Also, big congrats for Ray and Carol. Those kind of health improvements are priceless! HJ ----- Original Message ----- Thank you for the inspiring letter. I am diabetic and on Amarl and glouaphage. It gives me so much hope that what I m doing is right. Carol in WV
