Guest guest
Hi Everyone I am now trying to withdraw from using paxil for 10yrs. My neurologist suggested that I alternate daily from 20mg to 15 mg for about a month then go to 15 & 15 for a month then 15 & 10 for another month. Has anybody tried this method before? So far the 20 15 seems to be going ok. Sam

PLease read the files and reduce just 5-10%, then make another reduction of 5-10% when you feel stable. YOU need to withdraw slowly. If your neurologist is suggesting this, throw it back at him/her and ask them to withdraw from paxil the way they suggest. Please respect your body, there are people on this list who have done what your doc suggests, it isnt pretty. Please read the files and then chat to . Guest guest
is absolutely right!! The accepted wisdom (which most doctors know nothing about) is to make reductions no larger than 5-10% at a time, then waiting until the body feels stable before making the next 5-10% reduction. Also, you must support your body with supplements and appropriate diet. Take a look at the materials you received when you joined for a fuller explanation---then feel free to ask questions about how those articles apply to you in particular.
