Guest guest
No, I'm not going off to pout or going off in a snit or anything, but I won't be heading off to Ct. See, I only own two (2) pairs of pants, and they are both jeans. I'm wearing one pair and the other is either with the dirty clothes or waiting to be worn. I have 15 or 16 shirts, but they are all T shirts, every one. But that is hardly the main thing. When I started flying hang gliders, I learned something. If three things go " wrong " in your " pre-flight, " it's a poor time to fly. And at the rate things were going, I wouldn't have been too surprised if the plane had crashed or something. C and Dolores, relax. No one was jumping on you folks. Print out the messages and have someone else read them if you don't believe me. I called dress codes silly, not you. I thought the question about the admissibility of canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. was spot on, however. We're a bunch of gimps, for Pete's sake. Shouldn't we be *more* aware of how lousy discrimination is? And don't say " it can't happen here. " It already has, remember experiences with Jews, blacks, Irish, Italians, native Americans, Hispanics, to name just a few. (If I were really petty, I might include those too poor to afford shirts with collars, but I would never stoop that low.) If we don't speak up a little for ourselves, we will be left at the mercy of others if the general public decides that putting up with the handicapped is, well, offensive. Guest guest
Rita, Do we need flower's in our lapels to recognize each other??? I think they way we walk will be a dead give-away! Actually, I feel sorry for the poor guy that checks in with a cane or walker is not a PLSers. He might get caught up in moment and join us. I'm really excited about the trip. We leave Monday evening but don't arrive in CT until late afternoon as we will be driving down from Burlington, VT. Not sure how long that will take but my husband wants to go by Amherst as he went to college there. So it will probably be late afternoon before we arrive. Maybe the first on in could ask the front desk to keep a list of who is checked in so as each person arrives, they can see who is here already. CT Hi Gang:Just sitting here thinking, next week we all meet. I also was wonderingabout your arrival time. We can't check into the rooms till 4:00 PM. and I will be leaving NH about 9:00, so we will be in the areaabout noonish or later. Anybody going to be there at that time???Can't believe the time is here already, really looking forward to seeingall of you. Do we need flower's in our lapels to recognize each other???See you soon!RitaMike, are you arranging the midwestern trip?*************************************Some people succeed in spite of their handicap. Others succeed becauseof them.
