Guest guest
Hi ~ The only way to clear out Reverse T3 is by going on all T3. You gradually increase the T3 where your body stops producing its own T4, thus no RT3 can be created. If your own body creates T4 ~ or you take it exogenously ~ then your body will convert it to RT3. Once there is no production of RT3 from RT4, it is released from the cells and the T3 can finally get in. So ~ if you continue to take Armour, your body will convert its T4 into RT3, severely compromising your efforts! I can only tell you how much better I felt the morning I swapped my Armour for all T3. Reverse T3 is powerfuly detrimental stuff. While ramping up on Armour I was feeling better emotionally (because of the T3), but my body was getting weaker. I'm a yoga instructor and am fairly fit. Because of adrenal issues, I stopped doing really vigorous yoga sessions, but I still kept doing some major strength moves. As I increased my armour, my muscle capacity diminished accordingly. It was weird. Over time I found myself not being able to do a move I've done for years ~ chatarunga (which is like a low push-up position). My bicep muscles just gave out. The same thing with my thighs. I couldn't get up from a squat. My legs just wouldn't lift me. After 10 days on T3 only, I can do both again. My muscle strength is back ~ not 100% as before all the T4 in Armour, but I can do the moves. My muscles are giving out. take care, ~ -----Original Message----- HI All...I'm new to this list, but see some familiar friends from the adrenal group. What is the optimum ratio for T3 to RT3? Don't we want RT3 at zero? And did I read somewhere that it takes 6 to 8 weeks to clear out RT3? I'm looking forward to getting new labs done in a few weeks to see how mine is coming along on 75 mcg sustained T3 and 30 mg Armour. My doc doesn't want to cut out the Armour. Has anyone been successful clearing RT3 while still using small amounts of Armour?
Guest guest
,Wow. REALLY? My main problem is severe muscle weakness. I can barely walk! However, I was on 90 Armour originally for more than a year no problem. It was only when I started HC, hormones, sustained T3 (at 75 mcg now) and lowered Armour to 30 mg that these problems started. Any thoughts about that?I suspect this may have to do with my low Ferritin (18) so perhaps not using T3 efficiently. I've been supping iron since my doc didn't want to do injections but intend to push that again at my next appointment. Do you use Cytomel or sustained T3? And how often do you have to dose Cytomel daily? Thanks so much,Hi ~The only way to clear out Reverse T3 is by going on all T3. Guest guest
Hi ~ Yes... really! I was shocked. I was shocked when I went into low pushup and fell onto the floor (instead of holding steady).... and I was shocked when after just 10 days on T3 I could do it again. That's when I thought, wow ~ this RT3 is really a major bugger. It is really powerful stuff. I don't know know why the switch-up with you, I'm not well-versed enough in the other hormones and ferritin levels, although that does sound as if it would be the major component. I take Cytomel ~ just raised to 60mg and dose throughout the day: 15 (6:00am) - 15 (noon) - 10 (6:00pm) - 20 (bedtime). I know, it looks strange, but the 20mg at bedtime made the biggest difference in my mornings. I've not tried sustained-release T3, but read Val's account of it not being successful for her. take care, ~ -----Original Message-----From: RT3_T3 [mailto:RT3_T3 ]On Behalf Of RomanSent: Friday, August 15, 2008 2:09 PMTo: RT3_T3 Subject: Re: Re: Articles?
