Ferritin Up Some

Hi Val,

I haven't posted for awhile as I've been waiting to see how much I

can get my ferritin up the past 8 weeks. My ratio of RT3 & FT3 was

16, and I wanted to get on Cytomel but my ferritin was only 28. My

recent lab says it is up to 38. I visit my doctor tomorrow and I'd

like her to give me a prescription for Cytomel to go slow. I had

pretty much dropped the Armour (2 gr./day) slowly because I don't

think it was doing anything for me and didn't want to build up

anymore T4 in my system. as my TSH got down to 0.009. (I don't know

how wise a move that was to drop the T4). If she is agreeable to

prescribing the Cytomel for me, I thought I would start real slow

and continue with the liver tabs to get my ferritin up to at least

50 over the next 6 weeks. I think I will up the liver tabs to try

to get my ferritin up a little faster.

Anyway, I'm kind of confused, and maybe I should have posted what's

below in the Natural Thyroid (Adrenals) group.

By the way, my adrenals went from a Stage 7 this past June to a

Stage 4 in my November saliva test, probably with the help of HC and

reduced stress. I have also been doing 25 mg. Iodoral/day. I've

also been taking Nystatin to help with yeast and my recent blood

work seems to show my Candida IgA is normal although my IgG-M005

Candida Albicans is high on the range but not over, so possibly the

reduction in that is also helping my adrenals.

What mainly concerns me on my most recent lab test from 11/08 is the

change in the following numbers, especially the Thyroid Peroxidase

(TPO) Ab from 8/08:

Thyroid Peroxidase(TPO) Ab 11/08-420 (High) 8/08- <20(range 0-34)

That number has jumped up pretty high from just August. Have I

developed Hashimoto's? (see other thyroid numbers below). I was

taking Amoxycillin for about five days prior to my recent

bloodtest. I'm wondering if that could have affected the results at

all.

Also, from August to November, my other thyroid numbers have

changed. See anything of significance here? I do see that my TSH

has gone back up, probably because I stopped the Armour:

TSH 11/08 - 3.109 8/08 - 0.009 (range 0.450 - 4.500)

Free T3 11/08 - 2.5 8/08 - 5.0 (range 2.3 - 4.2)

Free T4 11/08 - 1.10 8/08 - 1.32 (range 0.61 - 1.76)

Anything from the rest of my labwork pop out at you?:

Glucose, Serum 89 (range 65-99)

BUN 10 (range 5-26)

Creatinine, Serum 0.85 (range 0.57- 1.00)

Glom Filt Rate, Est >59 (range >59)

BUN/Creatinine Radio 12 (range 8-27)

Sodium, Serium 142 (range 135 - 145)

Potassium, Serum 4.2 (range 3.5 - 5.2)

Chlorida, Serum 103 (range 97-108)

Carbon Dioxide, Total 24 (range 20-32)

Calcium, Serum 9.3 (range 8.5 - 10.6)

Protein, Total, Serum 7.5 (range 6.0 - 8.5)

Albumin, Serum 4.3 (range 3.6 - 4.8)

Globulin, Total 3.2 (range 1.5 - 4.5)

A/G Ratio 1.3 (range 1.1 - 2.5)

Bilirubin, Total (range 0.3 (range 0.1-1.2

Alkaline Phosphatase, S 64 (range 25 - 165

AST (SGOT) 27 (range 0 - 40)

ALT (SGPT) 21 (range 0 - 40)

Bilirubin, Total

Alkaline Phosphatase, S

AST (SGOT)

ALT (SGPT)

I was planning to have my doctor write me a prescription to get my

Aldosterone and Renin tested next time unless you think the

Chloride, Serum number above indicates something.

As always, your advice is greatly appreciated. By the way, happy

belated birthday. Thanks for the immense amount of time you put in

helping people here.
