I'm stunned. Around here those that eat do, to the point where Gail

has to be supervised, and those that don't, well, I swear J eats less

every month. Heck, eats more than he does.

As you SHOULD be amazed, Barb. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That is terrific!!!!

This doesn't happen to all kids, that is for sure. Same tactic, different

child - complete failure. <read: MADISON....> With Madi - the only

method is to pin her down on the floor and enforce my " one bite rule " . If

she doesn't like it - you may starve. If you like it, please indulge.

But with Syd - - it does work.

And I would have to agree with you. Don't force it because the kid who will

not eat even if they should starve to death, will not eat no matter what.

The kid who will get curious and taste it on her own, will do so without

your forcing her. Which year, I don't know. Syd has only recently started

it - - about 3 months ago, I think?

Today, Sydney had her first order of Mozzarella sticks cause I got all YUMMY

with one in the front seat of the car. She stared and when I held on closer

to her, she grabbed and sniffed - - took a couple " test " small bites, and

then chomped away. Same scene, switch camera to Madison. Same yummy yummy,

this stick makes me happy scene - - - - she stares, I hand her the

mozzarella stick, she turns her head away as far as she can and raises both

arms before her to keep away the OH SO HORRIBLE food item.

Ah well.

Yay Aislynn!!

has been rather adventurous lately too. Last

night he ate ham at dinner and tonight he ate

spaghetti, in fact, he asked for it!

Tuna :)

Today Aislynn tried the trifle Jim's sister made. She

not only liked it, she ate it on the same forkful of

ice cream. Now that's weird! You all know what trifle

looks like after it's served? It looks pretty awful,

all this stuff mixed together. I have never seen her

even let her food touch. She eats crab dipped in

melted butter and loves it. So today I bought a

seafood salad. She tried it without any prompting and

loved it. So I went for broke, and she tried a

different kind of Tamale for lunch, and loved it. She

had spinach for dinner last night.

No cheese never cheese.

My advice, don't force it, but do allow for the

opportunity for them to at least try new stuff.

Eventually, their curiosity gets the best of

them. & nbsp; Like when Grace made that taco look so

inviting, do that.

I was just so amazed I had to share.

ugh.

ugh.

ugh.

dh and Jacqui are actually starting to argue about this.

She yells. He yells. I just sit there.

I don't know how much longer he will be able to deal with it, actually.

He really needs to learn to ignore it, but it's very hard for him.

Rules? Rules? Good luck. The kid is going to eat what & when she wants to or

needs to. I've accepted it.

And for all you " nt " folks who think that's bad parenting....<raspberry> to

you...YOU come try and fix it, cuz I'm done.

Did I just get off on a rant, here?

They seem to like ham. That was one of the first meats

Aislynn would eat. She can't stand pasta, but eats

that Ragu Express only because she can make it herself.

You think she'll ever be able to open a can? How do

you teach them that? I have tried, but her muscles

just aren't strong enough to grip the can opener.

She had that seafood salad and just about devoured the

entire thing! I am so glad she is expanding her likes.

I hope her waist doesn't follow.

She is real small for her age, about 5'2 " and 75 lbs.

Still wearing girls sizes too. I am 5'9 " and her dad

is 6'0 " I guess she is a late bloomer like I was.

Her younger sister is about an inch shorter and

nearly 3 years younger.

Unfortunately, he's so competitive, he wants to win them all

Oh NO!

My dad was YOUR dad toooooooooo???

Well gollygeewoolickers.....

Same thing here, Barb. Countless times, Dad would make my sister and I cry

at the table, sobbing through awful bites of yucky food that we didn't

want.... but ended up eating because he was so angry.

And *I* still remember.

Me too. One bite, and you're off the hook.

But as my revenge, you shall starve.

That is the only enforced rule in this house LOL.
