Guest guest
Hi Adria, No - it's an inhaler, believe it or not! The active ingredient is Zincum Gluconicum 2x. Still no symptoms - day four! JoJo
Guest guest
For about the past 10 years, I've been a faithful believer in the power of zinc in decreasing the symptoms/length of the common cold. I just caught my first cold in I can't tell you how long - hmmm... could it have something to do with eating VERY little food, having a few drinks and partying my patootie off at an outdoor wedding reception, on a chilly evening, wearing a sleeveless dress? hahahaha Even though I don't feel 100% it is NOTHING compared to how I would feel if I hadn't taken my magic bullet ;-) Along with Zicam, there is Cold-Eze (in either " hard candy " or " gum " form). I swear by these zinc products :-) Also just my 0.02 -Marlena in DC > Hi all, > I just had to put my .02 in for Zicam - the " new " over the counter cold > remedy. It is awesome! I was sick as a dog on Saturday with a sore throat, > stuffy nose, etc, etc, and I went to Walgreens and got all my goodies - Alka > Seltzer for cold and sinus, Puffs, and lots of chocolate & oj (lol). Guest guest
This sounds like a homepathic remedy rather than a zinc supplement. Homeopathic remedies are so diluted that virtually none of the original ingredients remain - supposedly they leave a cellular energy imprint or something like that that that is supposed to stimulate the immune system into healing itself. This is very different from an herbal remedy or a vitamin or mineral supplement, which has specific natural chemicals that react in a fairly predictable way. I'm glad it worked for you, many are avid believers in homeopathy, I am not, but I'm also a big proponent of live & let live. I checked out their website at www.zicam.com, and it seems that the Ear, Nose, and Throat Journal stated that there was an independent double-blind placebo study done, and 75% of the Zicam recipients showed improvement. All I know is that it works - I should be really sick right now, and I'm not. And I am happy about that! JoJo
Guest guest
Meenie, It's a nose spray, and Rite Aid has a generic knock-off . . . twice the volume at 2/3 the price. Same ingredients. Terry
