Guest guest
Hello all,I've had an abdominal pain below my sternum (around the xiphoid process) for quite some time now, which has recently gotten worse so my naturopath recommended I get an endoscopy to find out what's going on. I was however concerned that the anesthesia drugs might cause a lyme flare-up or worsening of symptoms. Does anyone have any experience with being anesthetized with an active infection? Guest guest
Hi , I've had 3 surgeries in the last few years, but I had already been under treatment for LD, so I can't say that I had a lot of active LD. Because my surgeries were planned, I chose times that were not close to the full moon. I also discovered that whenever you have a surgical procedure of any kind you are given antibiotics. I'm sure that helped. As far as I know, the anesthesia itself did not stimulate LD to multiply. I also made sure that I would not be given any glucose, dextrose or any other form of sugar in IV. Nowadays they usually give a balanced mineral solution instead. Guest guest
Hi Nevenka, Do you know that Propofol is the drug that killed ... My last colonoscopy/endoscopy exam was a few weeks after he died, at the exam I asked my doctor's nurse what I anesthetic I was getting, she looked as serious as she could and said " he only uses Propofol, you know the one died from! " My eyes must have been the size of grapefruits, she then said " don't worry, given in the proper dose, it is very safe... Relieved to say the least!! Take care, Jim > > I will get violently ill for 3-6 months after each General Anesthesia. After the third time my Colonoscopy was done with Propofol only and after that I was OK, no problems with Lyme. Propofol is out of the system so quickly that I woke up a few times, but did not feel anything. I did not need to wait for the Anesthesia to wear off, so I could go home right away. > > Good luck. > > Nevenka > > From: G. Guest guest
Hi , And the recovery form Propophol is very fast... I have real anesthetics in the past and the recovery is a lot longer... You are actually not asleep with Propophol in the exam room, but you would not know it.. I just wonder what patients say when they are under the influence of Propophol!! At least I have wondered if I have said anything.. :-) Apparently you can still talk, but you will not remember anything you said, but the doctors and nurses would remember! Take care, Jim > > I love propophol. I too had it for endoscopy and colonoscopy. I sleep great and wake like I have been out for hours (yet its only 20mins). I can see why michael jackson used it. Although it is only good if you are going under for a short period of time. > > > Sent from Yahoo! Guest guest
Yes I know what it is, but it is the only thing that does not make me ill for 3-6 months. At least if anything happened I am in the hospital, and hopefully they know what they are doing. If not, I am a toast, LOL. Thank you for reminding me.
