Guest guest
I do not know of specific nutrients to heal this particular part of the brain, but brain lipids are very important, as the brain is mostly lipid. PhosphatidylSerine is essential, 100mg/day - Thorne has IsoPhos, Physiologics has PhosphatidylSerine complex, vrp has phosphatidylserine, any or all are good. An excellent brain nutrient is Nordic Naturals ProDHA, and I believe a person your son's age would benefit by at least 1200mg a day or even more. An excellent multiple vitamin/mineral supplement that has all the new best active (biological) forms of vit B12 (methylcobalamin), folate (folinic acid and and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate) brain support nutrients is Klaire Labs' VitalSpectrum, in both powder and capsule form - my favorite multiple for kids now - they also newly have a separate Active B12 folate and Benfotiamine, (lipid soluble thiamine) both extremely important for the brain. Ecological Formulas has a new brain nutrient that gets into the brain called Norival (acetyltyrosine with biopterin) and Mitocarnitine (propionyl-L-Carnitine); they also have Menierin for oto-equilibrium. VRP also has Neuron Growth Formula, which has nutrients that animals studies show highly improved dendritic growth and function. VRP also carries Nordic Naturals for the ProDHA; to get a discount on vrp items, give them my pin # 211032, and to order Klaire items, call and tell them I sent you and that you are a member of CSB e-list and they will give you 20% off all their items. And please let us know how your boy does on these, especially the Neuron Growth Formula which is new but sounds terrific.
