Guest guest
Steve gave me permission to cross post his message below. Those of us who knew Harry knew that he was very sick but that never stopped him for being passionate about making a difference for men with prostate cancer. He can never be replaced. Other men would have given up but not Harry. I wonder sometimes if his attitude was part of what extended his life so long beyond his original prognosis. He was a hero for many men and women in the prostate cancer community. I had the pleasure of being being involved with Harry on the first major PCAN issue - the Least Costly Alternative being foisted upon us by various Medicare providers who handled coverage for the Federal Government. I worked with Harry, Ralph Valle, and Fred Mills and produced the PCAN website. A few years later I met Harry in person when I moderated a Prostate Cancer Symposium in Carson City, where Harry was one of the speakers. Harry, Mack Roach, and I spent a couple of nights together at the home of Nikki Meloskie who had put the Symposium together. Harry truly was a gem and his death is a major loss to the Prostate Cancer community.
