Guest guest
I have a friend who recently had a baby (6 weeks old). She has decided not to give her baby vaccinations at this time. Unfortunately, she made this decision recently and her baby was given the hep b vaccination before he left the hospital. She is contemplating not finishing this series until later if at all. Is the vaccine still effective if she continues the series in a couple of years? Any advice for her now that she has given that vaccine? Thank you for your input. Guest guest
One needs the series to be adequately immune. However, my feeling is that if the mother is not HIV+, and she is not taking her baby to a 3rd world country in the next couple of years, and if her baby is not into sex or drug addiction yet, that the little one does not need a Hep B vaccine until his teens when he might start being sexual or using injected street drugs with dirty needles. By then we hopefully will have vaccine reform and will not be shooting poisons into our kids when we vaccinate them.
