Re: Stopping Armour

Hi Sol-

I'm currently on 2 grains Armour. My doc is not a fan of Cytomel and often

recommends 's protocol. However she does also use just straight SRT3.

Hmmm -- you had to ask ;-) I don't remember for sure what she said as a

starting dose -- seems to me it was to start with 15 mcg every 12 hours then

add 7.5 mcg to each dose every 3 days. She said to get up to 37.5 twice per

day, but I imagine that could be flexible depending on my response. I'm

pretty sure that's what she said -- I have 100 each size on order (and her

instructions will be on the bottles).

In addition, here's a comment on the subject from Val copied and pasted from

a recent message to someone (message #7691):

>>On the armour website it says that each grain equals 25 mcg of cytomel..so

wouldnt that be like 62 of cytomel for the 2 1/2?<<

[Val]YES BUT when you first stop the Armou in a day the T3 form it is GONE,

the T4 is stil there. So if oyu replace it all at once oyu WILL go hyper

htyroid and also beat the crap out of your adrneals tryign to deal with it,

which is why oyu need ot start with juts replacening the T3 in it thne as

the T4 levels dissipate, over the next 4-6 weeks, you replace it wiht more

T3. Your starting dose of T3 to replace 2.5 grains would be 22.5 soI woudl

start with 25mcg split in at least 2 doses,. then every week you build the

T3 dose to replace the T4 conversion as tht aleaves your body.[]

Could you pls let me know what your doctor's dosing recommendations are?

and if you are currently taking armour or straight T3 what dose you will

switch from?

I just got some SRT3, and when it comes time to try it, have no idea how

to correlate a switch from my current cynomel.

thanks,

sol

Several in the frequent_dose_chelation

group are taking SRT3 and only one said she wasn’t noticing any benefit

(and I don’t think she was taking anywhere near enough) – probably four

in favor to one against. Also a few there said they were on ’s – two loved it, one said

they never “captured” their temps. I think one factor is the

pharmacy. Not every one can compound an effective product. My doc likes Falls

Pharmacy in Washington and Medusa Pharmacy in Alabama (and another one

in WA but I didn’t get the name). I’m getting mine from Medusa. I’ll

report my results when I have some (probably won’t get the product until

next week).

Oh please could both of

you let me know if the time released works for you...my doc wants to give

that to me, but since I heard bad things about it here, I said no...then she

mentioned triostat..has anyone heard of it? Why are you 2 not taking

the cytomel? sorry if you already said..leisa

I can't get cytomel (cynomel) anymore. Simple as that.

I also could not find a non-script source for tertroxin, the one that

used to be has been requiring scripts for over a year now. So I wanted

TiTre as 3rd best option, but my source was OUT. and remained out long

enough I got worried and ordered the SRT3 (triyotex) just to be sure to

have something on hand. Eventually I will have to use it.

I'd still like to switch back to a dessicated whole thyroid but have

tried and failed 3 times now.
